Currently, I am so in love with my new way of stitching. Forever, I was a one project at a time girl, followed by a couple going at on time. Then I started following #24hourchallenge group on Facebook.... I am in love with stitching this way now. I feel like I still keep myself in check with maybe 10 projects going.

I start out every month working on "A Year of Celebration" by Hands on Design along with the Stoney Creek Collections "Quote of the Month".

Then I just move onto the SAL's I have going. I am working on Hello Pumpkin by Caterpillar Cross Stitch and Emerald City by Owl Forest Embroidery. I love these mystery stitches, but not sure that I could do more than these two and keep up with it. Here are what these are looking like.

I have been stitching on Sue Hillis Designs "Bringing Home the Tree" I am calling this a finish do to I am just over it. The fabric I dyed made the holes to tight and I am going to just make small pillow or something. Long story short I am calling this a finish.

"Autumn Times" by New York Dreamer is another finish for me this month. I am enjoying working on this series as well.

I started another new series by Hands on Designs called "Chalk Full" This series is close to my heart because I was raised just outside of Muncie, Indiana and that is the home of the Ball Corporation. (Meaning Ball canning jars)

Fun fun, then I think the last piece I am worked on this month was "Cute PJ's" by Sue Hillis Designs. I just have one more pair of pj's to stitch and this will be ready to fully finish.

So busy stitching month and I am enjoying switching up projects allowing me to see progress on several different things. Besides I can be moody and need to change it up from time to time. Oh I almost forgot...I did stitch everyday on my Harry Potter again (3 months going) but it is at work and I forgot to take a picture for you. Next month I promise!!!!

Question of the Month: What do you have on your stitching bucket list? (for example, specific projects, designers, fibers, etc)

I just added something to my stitching bucket list yesterday. It is a design/kit from Russia that I am dying to get ordered. The designer is Owl Forest Embroidery and the kit is... "Sweet Home"

I would be over the moon to get this...we will see!!!

I think this just about wraps it up for this month. I look forward to see what everyone else has been up to.... So until next time I hope you have love, peace, and stitching time in your life.

Time really is flying by...... July was a crazy busy month. Before jumping into stitching I would like to give a small life update. This month was 8 years of marriage for us (July 9th). We were both on vacation for the week, doing a couple day trips and time together and dinner for our actually day. Our teens, all have jobs for the summer so we all stay very busy. This is definitely an active stage for our family.

Now I want to jump into my stitching. I participate in a SAL called WIPocalypse and if you would like to check out the others that do this SAL blog also you can go here. This month I did a challenge on Facebook that had me working on may projects again. I enjoy pushing myself to not just work on one project and have variety. I want to start out with the couple of finishes I was able to get done this month.

Bringing Home the Tree by Sue Hillis Designs. Okay so this one has been a struggle. I dyed this fabric and it has made it harder to get stitch. So because of that I will only doing part of this chart, but I think I will still be happy with how it turns out. I keep you posted about it....
The last stitching I am excited to share is my Harry Potter piece. I have stitched everyday during the month of June and July. I decided to stitch it over 1 on a 28ct piece. To be honest I have had thoughts about maybe never getting this done. Ugh.... But I am still plugging along. I am even going to keep stitching daily on it for now. Wish me luck!!!!

That wraps up the stitching I have been doing in July. I am enjoying the variety of stitching I am doing because of participating in the #24hourchallenge group on Facebook.

One last thing to put out there is every month we are given a question to answer if we would like...

Question of the Month: How do you get yourself out of a stitching drought?

I have struggled with this off and on through the years. Sometimes I feel it has just been the chapter in my life were I just can't make time to stitch. Then when my mother died in 2017, I struggled wanting to feel her close to me again. She was a Stitcher also, 11 years ago she gave me an afghan for these butterfly charts I wanted to stitch.... so I got it out to finally start. I feel so much love from her when I stitch on it. So that is what got my out of my last drought.

I want to thank anyone that stops by to check out my blog. I really do love reading your comments and reading your blogs. So until next time....keep on stitching.

For the month of June and July I am choosing to do a focus project that I stitch on everyday. I am doing the Harry Potter Project I have. I started out doing it 2 over 2 but switched to 1 over 1. This could now be my most challenging project. I sometimes only put in 10 mins a day but I am at least working on it. Here is what it will look like and then where I am on it.

I did a lot of other stitching this month because of a group called 24 Hours of Cross Stitch on Facebook.

Anyway I am planning to continue the Harry Potter for my July focus piece. If you would like to check out other post on the WIPocalypse go here

The question this month is Half-year recap: How are you doing with your goals so far this year?

I believe I am on target for most of what I have planned for this year.

So until next month....keep on stitching.

I can't believe how fast this month flew by. On the last Sunday of the month is a check in for my WIPocalypse SAL. If you would like to learn about it you can go here. If you are interested in other bloggers participating you can check them out here.

At the beginning of 2019, I listed projects that I was going to work on during the year. So far I have been doing fairly well....then Maynia hit. I have never participated in Stitch Maynia but I wanted to try it this year. I made the decision to have 5 new starts during the month, one for each Wednesday. This also is giving me more WIPs then I have ever had.

But first lets bring you up to day on my 2019 planned projects. I have stayed up-to-date on my two monthly charts. A Year of Celebrations and Quote of the Month. Other than that I have not worked on anything that was schedule for the year. Last month I started a mystery SAL called Emerald City and this month I started Hello Pumpkin as a mystery SAL. Here are pictures of these pieces.
Each month we are given a quick question to answer so there goes....
Question of the Month: Where do you love to shop for stash?

In such a short time this has changes a bit. I have a local shop Stitch 'N Frame in Fort Wayne, Indiana that I have used for 18 years then I started attending a Retreat in southern Indiana so I was introduced to Fancy Works in Bloomington, Indiana. I have also ordered online from 123Stitch. But I just discovered this little shop in Finley, Ohio that I am in love with also it is the Craft Gallery. So I just get my stash from many places now.

Other cross stitch related stuff to share...I fully finishes these cute little seasonal paws.
This upcoming month I am looking forward to a couple challenges I will be taking part of...0 first is the one for this group. I will be stitching on a Harry Potter piece everyday with the goal of finishing by the end of July for this June/July challenge. The second challenge I will be taking part in is a group on Facebook called #24hoursofcrossstitch This is a first for me so I shall see how this goes. I am looking forward to both of these challenges.
The last Sunday of every month I am part of a SAL that you can find here if you want to see the other peoples blogs that are participating also. My update this month on what I have been stitching is kindof a blur but here goes.

I start out every month with the Year of Celebration charts. This is fully finished. I love these little charts. I also do the Stoney Creek Collection Monthly Series.
So for this month our special question is Talk to us about your longest-running WIP or UFO.

I don't really have a long running WIP I usually stay on my projects until they are done. That is because I usually stitch one project at a time. I am getting ready to challenge that way of doing things. I have decided to take part of Stitch Maynia on my terms. I will be doing a start every Friday during the month of May. I am excited and nervous at the same time. So with all my bravery I am stepping out of my comfort zone and doing multiple projects.

Until next time Happy Stitching!!!!Janethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12382429621038412189noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5001602915384396172.post-21768332820033182102019-04-11T05:27:00.001-04:002019-04-11T05:27:39.898-04:00Apirl FFG

Now into my current stitching. I joined the mystery stitch a long by Owl Forest Embroidery. I am in love with this pattern idea. When I was younger, every year me and my sister would watch "The Wizard of Oz" and have a huge bowl of popcorn. We would stay up past our bedtime. I love these flashbacks of my youth. So this is just a small start but I am getting there.

Next I have been working on "Children Need..." I know I say this a lot but I love it!!! I am in search for a couple Just Another Button Company buttons. I want 3 birds to represent my children and a dragonfly also.
So this is not stitching related but....my book came in the mail today. I will be digging into this very soon.

Of course I have also been binge watching Flosstube. I thinking about starting my own also. Who knows....

So I am off.... Have a great week and enjoy your stitching time.Janethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12382429621038412189noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5001602915384396172.post-76748163738601344152019-04-07T11:54:00.001-04:002019-04-07T11:54:34.549-04:00People's Choice...Speciality StitchesHello...I am little late but on the first Saturday of the month I participate in a blog SAL. The People's Choice is where we are given a topic to explore. If you would like to check out the others that are doing this along with me you can go here.

The topic for the month of April is....Speciality Stitches

One of the first series I stitched were these monthly banners that had a speciality stitch on everyone. I made them and gave them to my mom. She has since passed away but my father asked if he could still display them. So that was a solid yes, if he remembers to change them out every month they are still there for his enjoyment. I do not have a picture to share with you at this time though. Sorry.

The next thing that came to mind that I have stitched with speciality stitches are my needle rolls by Shepherds Bush. I have 3 fully finished and 2 more that I am slowly working on. I love these little projects!!!

I wish I could say I love all speciality stitches but I still can not master the french knot....ugh I usually will place a bead on the chart for this stitch.

I hope you enjoyed this quick little post. I so love these topics every month. Have a great week and happy stitching....Janethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12382429621038412189noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5001602915384396172.post-59708316904984946892019-04-01T19:45:00.003-04:002019-04-01T19:45:55.854-04:00March WIPocalypseHey its the last Sunday of the month and that means I get to check in with my SAL for WIPocalypse. For information about this fun SAL you can check it out here. And here is a link if you would like to see others that are participating in this months check in. This month we were doing an additional challenge of one stitch a day on a focus project. I chose my Little Stitching Fairy. This is what she looked like at the beginning of the month.

For me it was fun to dive in and once I got started I was kindof driven to see how far I could get on her this month. I still finished my 2 little monthly series I do every month but I am blown away with how far I have gotten on my Stitching Fairy. I unfortunately i got a stain on this corner of this piece I am trying to get out so we will see how that goes.

One of the fun things about this monthly SAL is we have the option to answer a question each month. Here is the question for this month. *** What newer designers and product creators (fabric or floss dyeing, etc) out there have you discovered and recommend?

I have discovered many new designers but they are really just new to me. With Thy Needle and Thread, Drawn Thread, Carriage House Sampling, Country Cottage Needleworks, Little House Needleworks, and Silver Creek Sampling. I have really enjoyed collecting some patterns!!! I will see how and when I can fit them into my stitching. I really want to get to the point that I am stitching on more than one piece at a time.

Well until next time...keep enjoying your stitching.Janethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12382429621038412189noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5001602915384396172.post-13632702572518515252019-03-29T19:16:00.003-04:002019-03-29T19:16:43.889-04:00March Small Finish SALThe Small Finish SAL is a fun little stitch a long that encourages us to have a finish every month. You can check the other folks out here to see their finishes. It also introduces me to other designs I want. LOL (like I need them!!!)

I am happy to report that I have 2 small finishes this month. I have two different series that I am doing monthly for decorations in my house First, I have A Year of Celebration March. I changed it up a little but I am very happy with it.
I love working on these small patterns. I have figured out as you can see how I want to display the top pattern. I am still trying to figure out how I want to fully finish the Stoney Creek pattern. Any suggestions are welcome.
Meet Gabi.... She was born on Jan. 10th and she is full German Shepherd. This was taken on her ride home. We are relearning the struggles of having a puppy but she is so worth it. I am adding another picture of her today. She is already getting bigger.

I took an extra day off from work and enjoyed a much needed long weekend. I have accomplished a lot of stitching and a few other fun projects.

This month a blog I follow is doing a focus cross stitch project
basically...I pick a project, do one stitch a day. But this usually
leads to more stitching on it. My choice is The Little Stitching Fairy.

March 10

Then yesterday my sister came over, we did some fabric dying and of course stitching.

Here is a sample of the fabrics... I love how these turned out. I will be doing this again. I did try ice dying but that was a fail and I didn't save that piece.

I have a new start using one of these pieces of fabric.

Children Needs...

I felt the desire to do a little work on my Butterfly Afghan. I finished up the word on one square.

Then today is my last day off of work, I did a little run to Michaels. I am trying to help my house move into spring. I made this tulip wreath that was inspired from Priscilla of The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch.

Lastly the mail came today when I was typing this up and my order from 123 Stitch came so here is my stitchy mail. Yes, Flosstube does cause me a few problems...

It feels so good to have the sun shining and the feeling that spring is right around the corner. So until next time keep on stitching.
I am so excited that I get to participate in the FFG. The FFG is
I have a goal to knock out many old finishes along with keeping up with new ones I am stitching.

Lets start out the "A Year of Celebration"...I love stitching these I have made a few tweeks basicly where I have made mistakes.
Back in 2006, I saw the first ad for this upcoming series in the Stoney Creek Collections Magazine. I knew I had to have it... So I collected all the magazines that year, then for Christmas my mom gifted me the afghan. I just stored it away but knew someday I would get to it.

With the passing of my mom in November 2017. It was such a shock, leaving a huge hole in my heart along with my life. She was my best friend, I would talk to her every day. During that first year, my sisters and I divided up her cross stitch projects and some of her charts. It was around then that I restarted stitching on a more regular bases.

So at the end of 2018, I started thinking about what I was planning to stitch in 2019. I came upon the afghan.... It may sound weird to some but I just felt the love of my mom when I held that afghan. I kitted it up and actually started stitching on in Dec 23, 2018.

My goal was to finish it in 2019.... I was moving along on the blocks and loved stitching on it but then something happened and I didn't want to make it a goal anymore. I just want to enjoy stitching it and think of my mom as I do. (Not make it a race... just feel the love and enjoy.) So I have taken it off the goal list. If you knew me that in itself is a challenge for me because I am very goal driven.

I know when I have it finished I will be able to wrap myself in that afghan feeling her love and connection. It will forever have a special meaning to me. I am always looking for signs from mom so I can feel her with me on this amazing journey we call life. I would love to say I have been doing amazing things, but truly I am just working and doing mom duties.

So getting the boys from track practice daily, taking my daughter for a prom dress fitting, and trying to pull off dinner for them. LOL Okay a couple times the kids had to pull off food on their own.

I have been getting some stitching done at work everyday. I had this quick finish this week though it was a little stubborn... It was a free design from Brooke's Books Publishing here scroll past the alphabet then you should find it.

I am looking forward to the month of March, I am participating in a stitching challenge that WIPocalypse is holding where we put in one stitch a day as a minimum so here is where I am starting at....

A couple other updates I want to share are I am addicted to these project bags that I have learned to make thanks to the help of a friend and YouTube. I have 10 of them now but here are my latest ones.

And lastly today I did some fully finishes I am giving you a sneak peek because I will be posting all my fully finishes this next weekend. I have had this set stitched and sitting in a box since 2006-2007, but here is one.

I have build my confidence from seeing other finishes and watching The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch Priscilla & Chelsea on YouTube. Lastly, just to leave you with a tease my sister and I are going to do some fabric dying next weekend to stay tuned.Janethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12382429621038412189noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5001602915384396172.post-36463154527323219952019-03-03T17:54:00.003-05:002019-03-03T17:54:44.754-05:00People's Choice... Last Sunday of the month, so this is when we check in with the <span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">WIPocalypse. You can check out the others doing this SAL here. Anyway, I feel like I had very short month. We went on a small vacation well...with the pre time and all I didn't stitch for like 10 days. This makes for a poor showing this month. I did get a couple small finishes done but I am/have shared them on other blog updates. So that leaves me to share that I only worked on Stitching Fairy this month for a total for 4 days this month and a total of 6 days for the project to far.
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I listen to/watch Flosstube right now. (This slows down my stitching as I stop to take notes on things I must have. So I have been doing a Monday blog on just hobby updates but sometimes my best plans of stitching on a weekend do not go as planned.... Ugh. Now I am deciding to just do a recap of the week the best I can. LOL

I have been back from vacation for a whole week and let me just say the struggle is real. I did not want to cook this week at all it seems and that is really not a choice with 3 teenagers at home. I guess the all inclusive resort we were at spoiled by butt alot. Well we made it through and no one starved to death.

My kids missed a couple days of school this week due to weather. They have to do something called elearning on days that are canceled and they just HATE it. There is no such thing as a SNOW day around here any more. These kids truly are missing out of the joy of snow days but it goes along with the change of times.

Then Friday night my husband had a few people over to play golf in the garage. If I can find a picture I will post it here. But basically he has a golf simulator that he can use that makes him feel like he is on a golf course. They had so much fun!!!

Saturday and Sunday I was able to get some stitching in... I worked on my Stitching Fairy was happy to start the wings.

I had a finish with February "Year of Celebration" and then I did some fully finishes. (Saving those for later.) I am so excited about that!! I watch Priscilla & Chelsea-The Real Housewives of Cross Stitch on Flosstube and all I can say is they inspire me to do things myself. It is amazing how you can get a boost of confidence from them.

Oh I had a visitor in Sunday for a few hours. My sister came over for most of the afternoon and we stitched!!! I also was showing her flosstube. We do not get to see each other often so it was a very nice visit. I wish I would have taken a picture :(

So that is that for my week.... Thank you for stopping by and I look forward to hearing from you and chat with you next week. Hugs and Kisses.... Janethttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12382429621038412189noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5001602915384396172.post-17170305927299606032019-02-13T23:01:00.000-05:002019-02-13T23:01:55.723-05:00Traveling....<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I got to thinking with my recent vacation.... where have I traveled to and where else do I want to travel to?

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">I know that I have been blessed to have traveled outside of the USA but I also treasure my trips within this great country. When it comes to outside the USA, I have only been to Mexico and just inside Canada. So world traveler I am not.... Sometimes I dream about traveling the world but other times I am like "Why?" there are still so many places I want to go inside the USA. At one time I thought it would be so cool to get to all 50 states. I still think about doing that sometimes.

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Again, I realize how blessed I am for that. I remember my childhood.... my parents took us kids on 2 vacations that I remember so many details about. The first was to Cincinnati, Ohio. I was 9 years old we went to the a Reds game (baseball), the zoo, and Kings Island (amusement park). Then when I was 15 years old, we went to Florida for our Christmas vacation. We went to Kennedy Space Center, Disney world, then rented a condo on the Gulf side to finish up that vacation. I treasure those memories so much, I know my dad had to work very hard to pull off those vacations for us girls.

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">At
one point with my job I would travel a different major city in the USA
every year that was so much fun. They would pay for everything for me,
I looked forward to this trip every year. Then once my daughter was born her and my parents would fly in to stay
part of the week with me at that destination. So we would get to go out
and explore.
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Its funny how my thoughts go from wanting to explore the world to just my little piece of the world. Even now I have a list in my phone of places I want to take my kids to see knowing that we will see little pieces of this beautiful world. But I would not be honest if I didn't also say that I look forward to my vacations where I stay home and just take a break from the everyday life schedule.
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">Some of my self reflections have came about because of me doing this blog thing. When I read other blogs and how people just slow down and enjoy there weekend/weeks at home it makes me realize that even in this chapter of my life I have to slow down enough to take in the moments. So that is where I am at.... taking in the moments but also dreaming big because that is just who I am.
I didn't do any stitching during vacation but I have a couple finishes from the last week of January/ first week of February.

First finish is Stoney Creek Quote of the month.

Then I saw this next chart stitched and I had to have it!!!! The Scarlett House 2019 complimentary Valentine Day pattern "Love".

<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">This was an all-inclusive resort so plenty of food and drinks. We even caught a Micheal Jackson show. At the resort next to us we were able to use their water park so better believe I checked out a couple of the slides.
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue" , "arial" , "helvetica" , sans-serif;">We took a day to go on a day trip.... it included snorkeling in the ocean, swimming off of Isla Mujeres, and then being dropped off on the island for a few hours. While on the island we rented a golf cart to explore. Off we went to the far east of the island where we saw iguanas, a few shops, but also the most beautiful view.
Then within minutes they popped in my head, so here goes.
<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial";">You Can Heal You Life - Louise Hay
<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial";">What can I say I found this book when I was at a low point in my life. I had my daughter out of wedlock and I was doing this single mom thing thinking no one would ever want this hot mess in their life. I went on a self discovery mission. I found this book and even went to a workshop about it. My most touching memory about it was the fact that we all have to be our own best friend and if you ignore that self you loss out on a lot. The teaching was to really look in your own eyes in the mirror learn to say I love you to yourself.
<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial";">These books taught me how to just love ready again and to dream. I am still to this day I lover of the Harry Potter books re-reading them just to have the adventures of Harry in my life.
<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial";">Siddhartha - Hermann Hesse
<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial";">This book was recommended to me by a co-worker that had read it in high school and said this is a book he has reread in his life. And I can completely understand that. This really is just a book about a mans journey but in the end it was the discovery of peace and love. That is all we need... no reason to judge others.
<span style="font-family: "arial";">

<span style="font-family: "arial";">In 2012, for the first time in my life I read the whole Bible. Its funny I had memorized verses of the Bible. I knew how to look up things in the Bible but I had never read it from cover to cover. I bought a 1 year Bible and I made notes as I went and highlighted things that touched me. I discovered that at different points in my life different things jump out to me as important. I need to revisit this practice...
